Metal Mart partnered with Stryde Projects on the new Multipurpose and Teaching Space at Auckland Normal Intermediate, delivering a broad package of stainless steel and aluminium metalwork across the building's interior and facade.

Our scope brought together a wide range of specialist items. Stainless steel handrails were fabricated and polished for the mezzanine, admin block deck, and internal stairs, along with a stainless ramp edge angle and a stainless surround to the lift opening. Across the window line we supplied continuous stainless transom covers and the aluminium angle sill brackets and cover strips that tie the sliding door systems to the structure, precise, repetitive detailing that has to run true across the full length of the facade.

The package also included a fabricated aluminium sound reflector frame to the teaching space, perforated pre galvanised shelving panels, a fire access panel enclosure, and custom brackets and casements for the school's heritage bell, each item made to its own drawing and finish. It is exactly the kind of varied, detail driven scope that suits a fabricator with full in-house capability across both stainless and aluminium.
