Civic Quarter

Location: Civic Quarter, Auckland Central
Client: Naylor Love
Scope: Aluminium Seismic Flashings, Parapet Flashings, Door Jamb Flashings, Louvre Flashings, Apron Flashings
Metal Mart was proud to contribute to the Civic Quarter redevelopment in Auckland CBD, providing a detailed package of architectural flashings to support the high-performance façade systems required on this complex city build. Working with Naylor Love, our team delivered precision-fabricated aluminium solutions to meet both seismic movement requirements and exact architectural detailing.
A significant portion of the work focused on supplying and installing custom apron flashings and overflashings at seismic junctions, including interfaces between the podium and existing CAB precast walls, seat recesses, and planter walls. These flashings were fabricated in 1.2 millimetre aluminium, powder coated in Dulux standard colours, and included multiple folded profiles to meet movement and waterproofing needs.
We also supplied 2 millimetre aluminium parapet cap flashings and welded parapet corner soakers across planter tops. These elements were produced with careful attention to profile alignment and durability, helping maintain continuity across exposed upper edges.
To support the project’s mechanical and ventilation systems, Metal Mart fabricated and delivered a full set of vertical jamb flashings, sill flashings, and head flashings for external louvre doors and fire-rated louvre units. These were supplied in a variety of sizes and thicknesses, depending on location, with up to six folds per profile to match detailed architectural drawings.
Additional scope included internal gutter flashing under stairs, CAB wall junction flashings, and aluminium angle sections for external door frames. All items were delivered powder coated and trade-clean, with a strong emphasis on consistency, coordination, and performance.
This project highlights Metal Mart’s ability to meet the demands of complex commercial developments, delivering accuracy, speed, and attention to detail across a broad range of aluminium flashing requirements. From seismic detailing to visual finishing, every profile was produced to meet specification and support long-term building integrity.
