TUBE LASER CUTTING

Precision Tube and Pipe Laser Cutting in New Zealand

When your project demands accuracy, speed and a clean finish, Metal Mart delivers. Our 6,000 watt (6 kW) fibre laser tube cutting machine performs continuous 360 degree cutting while rotating the workpiece, producing pipe and tube components with a level of precision, complexity and finish that conventional cutting methods simply cannot match.

Whether you need one off prototype parts, intricate custom laser cutting, or large production runs, our team fine tunes every job for precision, material efficiency and on time delivery. From first drawing to finished component, you are in experienced hands.

360 Degree Rotary Laser Cutting: Our Point of Difference

Our machine cuts round, square, rectangular, elliptical and oval pipe in a single seamless operation. The workpiece rotates continuously through 360 degrees while the laser cuts, so profiles can be cut, notched, slotted, mitred and shaped without repositioning and without unnecessary joins. Parts come off the machine fabrication ready, needing little or no secondary finishing before welding or assembly.

What our rotary tube laser cutting handles:

Round pipe from 15mm up to 350mm in diameter. Square and rectangular tube with diagonal measurements up to 350mm (approximately 245mm x 245mm square). Elliptical and oval sections. Single component cutting lengths up to 9 metres, with raw material lengths up to 9.5 metres.

That 9 metre single cut capacity is a genuine advantage. Longer structural components, handrails, frames, balustrades and architectural features can be produced in one piece without joins, which saves fabrication time, improves strength and delivers a cleaner final product. Combined with full rotation cutting, it makes some very clean, precise and creative work possible, including complex interlocking joints, decorative patterns and components that slot together straight off the machine.

Materials and Cutting Capabilities

Our 6,000 watt (6 kW) fibre laser cuts a wide range of metals. Maximum wall thickness by material:

Carbon Steel (Mild Steel): up to 20mm

Stainless Steel: up to 12mm

Aluminium: up to 8mm

Galvanised Steel: up to 8mm

Brass: up to 6mm

Copper: up to 4mm

Minimum material thickness is 1 mm.

Accuracy You Can Build On

Precision is not a marketing word here, it is a published specification. Our tube laser delivers positioning accuracy of ±0.05mm per 1000mm and repeat positioning accuracy of ±0.02mm, at cutting speeds of up to 80 metres per minute. Driven by the FSCUT 5000A dedicated laser cutting control system with automatic nesting software, every part in a repeat run is consistent, and every length of material is used as efficiently as possible.

Why Choose Tube Laser Cutting with Metal Mart

Precision without tooling. Laser cutting produces complex shapes, intricate cutouts and tight tolerance holes without the cost or lead time of custom tooling. Your design goes from drawing file to cut metal fast.

Fabrication ready parts. Clean laser cut edges and accurate joints mean less grinding, less finishing and faster assembly. Mitres, notches and slots are cut exactly where your design needs them.

Less waste, lower cost. Automatic nesting software and near zero tail material maximise every length of tube, reducing waste and keeping your costs down.

Fewer joins, stronger parts. With cutting lengths up to 9 metres, long components are produced in one piece rather than welded together from shorter sections.

Speed and scalability. From urgent one off jobs to repeat production runs, our tube laser cutting service scales with your needs and keeps your production schedule on track.

Industries We Serve

Our tube laser cutting services support businesses across New Zealand in construction and structural steel, architecture and design, general engineering and fabrication, agriculture, transport, marine, furniture, handrails and balustrades, signage and shopfitting, and manufacturing.
