New World Mangawhai

Location: New World, Mangawhai
Client: Lanskey Constructions NZ
Scope: Stainless Steel Handrails, Column and Downpipe Protectors, Meat Rails, Bumper Rails, Trim Angles
Metal Mart was proud to deliver a wide-ranging stainless steel and galvanised metalwork package for the New World Mangawhai supermarket development. Working with Lanskey Constructions NZ, our scope supported both the architectural finish and the safety functionality required for a modern retail environment.
Our team fabricated and installed stainless steel stair handrails, including wall-mounted rails using 44.5 millimetre diameter SS304 tubing and proprietary bracket systems. These were polished to a 320 grit satin finish to ensure durability and visual consistency across public-facing areas.
We supplied a variety of custom column and downpipe protectors in both stainless and galvanised finishes, including folded angles, capped pipes, and base-plated units. These were installed to protect key structural and service elements from trolley and cart impact, with all fixings matched to site requirements using M8 and M10 concrete screw systems.
Inside the store, Metal Mart delivered a welded modular stainless steel meat rail system, fabricated using 50.8 millimetre tube. This included large single-frame and multi-piece modules, fixed securely to meet hygiene, load-bearing, and operational access standards.
We also provided black powder-coated stainless steel bumper rails for the checkout area, fabricated from 65 by 12 millimetre flat bar and bolted to droppers supplied by others. Additional works included custom trims for milk case areas and folded steel stair trims in high-traffic staff-only spaces, supplied in sandblasted finish for grip and visual durability.
This project reflects Metal Mart’s ability to deliver complex multi-scope packages for large-format commercial environments. From high-use areas to behind-the-scenes details, every element was fabricated and finished with performance, safety, and ease of installation in mind.
