Metal Mart was engaged to deliver a broad scope of structural and architectural metalwork for Ormiston Junior College. The project spanned stairs, walkways, outdoor learning areas and landscaping, requiring durable solutions and careful detailing across a wide range of elements in both indoor and outdoor environments.

Our scope included over 100 linear metres of walkway, stair and landscape balustrades and fencing, fabricated and installed to C3 loadings and backed by site specific PS1 engineering. Abrasive blasted and finished in HDG900 hot dip galvanising, these were built to meet safety requirements while standing up to the demands of a busy school setting.

Stair handrails were also fabricated and installed across both staircases, totalling over 70 linear metres. Made from polished 316 stainless steel and designed to complement the galvanised balustrades, these handrails provide continuous support along every stair run, contributing to a safe and compliant environment throughout the school.

We also supplied and installed over 145 square metres of anti climb mesh to the outdoor learning area and beneath the stairs. Set within galvanised frames and standing up to 3.6 metres high, the mesh includes two double gates to the outdoor learning area and a removable access panel at each stair.

Custom bag and shoe storage units were fabricated and installed with galvanised steel frames across five different types. The units were configured to suit different spaces and sized to serve the school's students through daily use.

A bike shed extension of over 110 square metres was also delivered, expanding secure storage for students who ride to school.
