Paerata School

Location: Paerata, Auckland
Client: Form Building & Development
Scope: Architectural Flashings, Eyebrow Features, Canopy Covers, Stainless Steel Downpipes
Metal Mart partnered with Form Building & Development on the redevelopment of Paerata School, delivering the flashing and architectural metalwork package across the new teaching zones.
Our scope covered nearly 50 individually detailed flashing and eyebrow items across two building zones, each fabricated from powder coated aluminium and shop drawn for approval before manufacture. The eyebrow features, the horizontal sunshade details that give the buildings their character, were finished in Dulux Duratec, a coating system backed by a 20 year warranty, chosen for schools where the metalwork needs to look sharp on day one and stay that way for decades of use.
The package also included galvanised cover panels to the canopy purlins and PFC beams, and stainless steel downpipes to the admin and lift canopies. The downpipes were fabricated from grade 316 stainless in a satin finish, with every mitred joint fully welded and polished, drainage components treated as architectural features, because on a well designed school, they are.
Education projects sit at the core of our work. Schools demand durable materials, clean finishes, coordinated installation around other trades, and metalwork that stands up to generations of students. Paerata School reflects all of it, and adds to the growing list of learning environments we are proud to have helped build.
