Scope: Steel Balustrades, External Handrails, Stair Handrails

Metal Mart partnered with Stryde Projects on the new 10 classroom block at St Joseph's School in Otahuhu, delivering the balustrade and handrail package across the building's stairs, landings, and access ways.

The balustrades to the stairs and landings formed the heart of the scope, over 110 lineal metres of welded steel frames with flat bar infills, fabricated to the structural drawings and hot dip galvanised throughout for long term durability. Alongside them we supplied and installed close to 180 lineal metres of external handrail and further stair handrails, all in galvanised steel, with posts set to the concrete floor on welded base flanges and chemset studs.

Across the full package that is more than 350 lineal metres of balustrade and handrail, every run fabricated to fit its exact location and finished to withstand years of daily student use. Volume like this rewards consistent fabrication and clean installation, so each length ties into the next without compromise.
